MOAB YOUTH GARDEN DINNER JUNE 4



Viking Cooking School Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager Jim Light will be preparing a Garden Dinner in Moab Utah to raise funds for the Moab Youth Garden Project. It's June 4 at 6 p.m. Cost is $40 per person.
Chef Light will feature a Southwest inspired dinner using produce grown in the Youth Garden as well as other ingredients sourced near Moab.
  • Table appetizers of Lima Bean Spread and Anise Dixon Black Bean Puree
  • Herbed Spring Vegetable Gazpacho
  • Smoke-Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Garlic Nambe Chili Sauce served over
  • Fettuccini, Spinach, and Garden Snap Peas
  • Slickrock Style Chocolate Chipotle Bread Pudding with Mocha Ice Cream

Thanks for highlighting this dinner last year! We are having another Garden Dinner, prepared by local chef Ken Moody, on September 14, 2012. Reservations are required and seating is limited. Cost is $50/person, with all proceeds going to support the Youth Garden Project. Call YGP at 435-259-2326 to make your reservations! Thanks!

As a former food editor of both the daily Deseret News in Salt Lake City and the Standard-Examiner in Ogden, I've received awards from the Association of Food Journalists, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Utah-Idaho Press Association, the Beehive Chefs and Writer's Digest. I've judged cooking and writing contests including the World Championship Dutch Oven Cook-off, the Les Dames D'Escoffier International MFK FIsher Writing Award, Taste TV Awards, and International Chocolate Salon. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) although this is not an official LDS blog. My husband, Kim and I have been married 29 years and have four kids and three grandkids.
