Real Simple is hosting a “Take Back Dinnertime” challenge, dedicated to making dinnertime the best part of every day. Getting a meal on the table every night can be stressful, and with today’s busy schedules, it’s hard for families to sit down together each night. But studies repeatedly show that children benefit from family dinnertime. 

Real Simple’s “Take Back Dinnertime” challenge will provide smart tips and solutions for healthier meals, getting organized in the kitchen, finding cooking inspiration, and feeling more connected at the dinner table. Every time a consumer visits to participate in the challenge, she will win points, which are entries into a sweepstakes. Prizes include: a Viking sauce pan, a gift package from OXO, a Tupperware gift basket, a Le Creuset Dutch oven, and $2,000 for groceries.

Readers are invited to sign up now and create profiles on From August 22 to September 19, participants will receive daily emails with cooking tips, recipes, and easy dinnertime ideas for the whole family. The more ideas you try, the more points you’ll earn, and each point is another chance to win one of the weekly prizes.

The program will culminate with the October issue featuring four real-life Real Simple dinnertime makeovers and the popular “Month of Dinners” cover-story.
