The Downtown Farmers Market and Edible Wasatch present a seasonal pig roast and party honoring the end of the 19th season of the Downtown Farmers Market.
It's Oct. 19, 6-10 p.m. at the Utah State Fairpark
Ryan Lowder, Executive Chef for The Copper Onion and Plum Alley has teamed up with local rancher Christiansen's Hog Heaven to prepare a feast fit for a locavore. Liberty Heights Fresh, Creminelli Fine Meats, Ruby Snap, High West Distillery and Uinta Brewing Co. will all be on deck with fresh preparations.
The event is 21 and older. Tickets are $25 per person, including food and live music. There will be a cash bar for those buying alcoholic beverages.

The Head to Tail BBQ is the finale to a summer series of Farm Tours that focused on different aspects of local food production. The tours were influenced by the Downtown Farmers Market’s commitment to farm to fork education and buying local.
The 2011 Downtown Farmers Market is open Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 11-Oct. 22 and Tuesday evenings Aug.-Oct. The market—with over 250 vendors—offers a unique variety of farmers, growers, bakeries, prepared food and beverages, packaged foods and local artisans.
